Ellen M. (Bergeron) Legere

Ellen Mae (Bergeron) Legere, 93, of Turners Falls, passed away on May 6, 2022, at her home.  Born on January 18, 1929, in Greenfield, MA, she was the daughter of William A. And Genevieve E. (Martin) Bergeron. 
Ellen graduated from Greenfield High School in the class of 1947, where she was known by her classmates as “Bergie”. 
Ellen married Theodore J. Legere on April 3, 1948, at Holy Trinity Church in Greenfield. 
She worked at the Rod Shop in the Village of Montague City and then worked at the Farren Memorial Hospital as a “TV Hostess”, selling TV viewing to patients at the hospital.  She moved from that job to working in the administrative offices at that hospital. She was a talented seamstress, making most of her daughters’ school clothes and special occasion clothes, such as their prom gowns.  
In her retired years she occasionally played golf.  She loved the beaches at Cape Cod. She was a life-long communicant of St. Mary’s/ Our Lady of Peace Church in Turners Falls. 
Ellen was pre-deceased by her parents, her brothers Robert and Edward and her husband Theodore “Ted”, who passed away on February 5, 2022.
Survivors include her sister Marjorie L. Pearson, her daughters Karen Wasielewski (Brian), Susan Brown (Matt) and her son Theodore, Jr. (Todd) who was her caregiver.  She leaves three grandchildren Michael Wasielewski, Myles Brown, and Joseph Legere and three great grandchildren.  She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and friends. 
A memorial service will be held on Thursday May 26, 2022, at 10 AM at Kostanski Funeral Home 1 Kostanski Square in Turners Falls. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. 
A calling hour will be held from 9 AM until service time at the funeral home. 
There will be a Celebration of Life for Ellen and Ted following the service at the cemetery.
