Elizabeth "Betty" Joseph

Elizabeth (Betty) Joseph, 96, resided in Massachusetts for the past 20 years. She always mentioned New York City as the center of her world, having grown up there.  She passed away peacefully on June 15, 2022, surrounded by her family.  
Betty was a loving mother to her 4 children: Leslie K. Mish (Gregory), Marguerite Killip (Bill Santelli), Karen S. Gangne (Craig), Jeff Killip (Jeanette); her 6 grandchildren - Steaphan Mish (Amber), Katie Percy (Ethan), Courtney Mish (Casey Penn), Annie Gangne, Riley and Cory Killip; and five great-grandchildren – Mason, Owen and Aveline Mish; Cole and Parker Percy.  
Betty was a kind soul to everyone she met.  She was an incredibly vibrant woman, kind, caring, generous, and social.  She loved music and art, going to concerts, art museums and gallery exhibitions, and was a frequent visitor to museums. 
Betty enjoyed being with her family, had a great sense of humor (noting that as you get older it was absolutely necessary to laugh), and always gave back to her community.  She enjoyed having a purpose and being useful and busy. 
Betty volunteered at the Greenfield Public Library for many years and also at the Northampton Hospice Shop for 20 years.  
Betty’s children want to thank Cooley Dickinson Hospice for their loving care to Betty.  Their kindness and compassion for her brought quality of life and joy to the last two years of her life.  Betty, Mom, Grandma will truly be missed. May she rest in peace.  
A Memorial Service will be held Monday 7/18 at 11am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. 
A calling hour will be held Monday morning from 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
