Elaine S. Bourbeau, 70, of West Mountain Rd., passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday January 23, 2024.
Born Elaine Sylvia Aldrich on August 30, 1953, in Lebanon, NH, the daughter of Lawrence B. and Phyllis C. Aldrich. Elaine graduated from Greenfield High School in 1971 where she played basketball and softball. Shortly after she attended Kaye Harvey Academy in West Springfield, MA to become a licensed beautician, first at Walter’s and then at Peggy’s in Greenfield for several years. She then moved on to work as a cashier at Stop & Shop for 16 years until retirement in 2014.
On July 26, 1975, Elaine married John Bourbeau, her husband of 48 years. She was a kindhearted, generous, and loving wife and mother to her children Stacie and Matthew.
In years past she enjoyed visiting her Uncle Eden’s Wild Rivers Dairy Farm in Woodsville, NH and spending time with aunts, uncles and cousins in that area and attending annual family reunions in Haverhill, NH. She also enjoyed spending time at the Bernardston Senior Center, visiting with her friends and playing Quiddler. Elaine donated yearly to several causes including the food bank and animal shelters.
She was predeceased by her father Lawrence “Lonnie” Aldrich, who passed on October 4, 2018.
She is survived by her husband John, her daughter Stacie E. Bourbeau of Orange, MA, her son Matthew J. Bourbeau of Bernardston, MA, her mother Phyllis Aldrich of Bernardston, MA, and her sister Irene Seaman of Turners Falls, MA.
A calling hour will be held on Friday February 2, 2024, from 10-11AM at Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls. A brief service will follow at 11AM.
Donations may be made in her memory to an animal shelter of one’s choice or a local food bank.
