Edward J. Kerswig, Jr.

Edward J. Kerswig, Jr., 93, of Huntington Circle passed away Monday (6-13-22) at home. He was born in Greenfield, MA February 4, 1929, the son of Edward and Mary (Cronin) Kerswig. Ed attended local schools and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School, Class of 1946. He went on to UMASS where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics in 1956. 
On May 16, 1953, Ed married Catherine Louise Gardner and they enjoyed 49+ years of marriage and raising their family until Catherine's death on October 26, 2002.
Ed was employed by Guardian Life Insurance Company, retiring in June of 1994 as Senior Vice President in Administration after 38 years. He was an avid sports fan. Ed coached CYO baseball and basketball at St. Margaret’s Church in Middle Village, NY. 
An avid golfer, he was a member of Thomas Memorial Golf Club where he previously served on the Board of Directors. He had also been on the Huntington Green Condo Association Board.
Ed leaves his children, Edward J. Kerswig of Greenfield and his daughter Kathleen Kerswig of Hartford,CT. He also leaves his grandchildren, Shannon Catherine Marie and Rob Gerdts, his wife Stephanie, and his great-grandson Robbie as well as several nieces and nephews.
Ed was predeceased by his sister, Julia (Kerswig) Cormier of Orange on May 20, 2021.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Church on Saturday 7/2 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
