Doris B. (Guilbeault) Bruno

Doris (Guilbeault) Bruno, 97, of Turners Falls, passed away on Wednesday January 11, 2023.  
Doris was born July 9, 1925, to Anna (Richard) and Arthur Guilbeault and grew up in the Patch section of Turners Falls. She had an extended family of grandparents, aunts and uncles on G St. 
She was a communicant of St. Anne’s Church and Our Lady of Peace. She attended St. Anne’s School, speaking French at home and school during her primary years. She graduated from Turners Falls High School in 1943. After high school she worked in the office at Millers Falls Tool Company.
She met her future husband Francis Bruno, a Navy Veteran home from the war, in 1946 after a dance on Osgood Street in Greenfield. They married in 1948 and enjoyed dancing throughout. They loved Polka and country music. Doris loved to knit and made her daughters many beautiful sweaters and pairs of warm mittens as they grew up. She loved her home and gardens. The family took summer vacations all over New England
Doris was predeceased by her husband in 1996, as well as brothers Earnest and Eugene. 
She is survived by her daughters Denise Milkey (Brian) of Turners Falls, and Donna DuSell (Michael Muller) of Greenfield; granddaughters Casey Milkey (Sarah Loomis), Katherine Hall (Seth), and Claire DuSell (Daniel Piasecki) as well as her great grandson, Aaron Hall. She also leaves a sister Simone Markham, and sister-in-law, Lois Guilbault.
 The family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers who have assisted us over the past few years. Especially Karen Rooney who always went above and beyond.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Monday January 23, 2023, at 10 AM at Our Lady of Peace Church 90 Seventh St. Turners Falls with the Rev. Stanley Aksamit pastor officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery. 
There are no calling hours.
