Dianna L. (Staelens) Thornton, 69, of Randall Wood Drive passed away Saturday May17, 2025 at Baystate Medical Center in Greenfield. She was born in Montague September 12, 1955 the daughter of Richard Staelens and Constance (Bourn) Hawkins. Dianna attended local schools and graduated from Frontier Regional High School.

She was a machine operator for Heat Fab for over 15 years. Previously she had cleaned homes and provided daycare.  Dianna enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, arts and crafts including painting and roosters.

Dianna leaves her daughters; Jennifer Thornton of Deerfield and Angie Hutkoski and her husband Wayne of Whately, her brother, David Staelens and his wife Nancy of Gill, many grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her fiancé Hugh “Bert” O’Brien of Turners Falls and her former husband Richard Thornton and her beloved dogs; “Ernie” & “Boomer”.

Besides her parents Dianna was predeceased by her son Richard “Ricky” Thornton.

Funeral services will be held Friday May 23, 2025 at 11AM at Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square Turners Falls, MA. Burial will follow in Howland Cemetery in Conway. A calling hour will be from 10 AM until service time at the funeral home.
