Daniel Joseph Dolan, born to Attorney and Mrs. John Dolan on June 15, 1966, in Turners Falls MA, passed away at home with his loving family by his side, on August 27, 2021, at the age of 55, following a long battle with stomach cancer.
Daniel leaves two sons, Daniel Joseph Dolan Jr. 26 of Bristol, Conn. and Ryan Joseph Dolan 13 of Troy, NY.; siblings, Mary (Katie) Sabato and her husband Mark of Danville, CA, John Riley Jr. of Penn Valley, CA, James Francis Dolan, and his wife Joanne of Turners Falls, Ann Marie McHugh and her husband James of Greenfield MA and Wesley Chapel, FL, and Francis Daniel Dolan of Truckee, CA; numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Daniel lived a happy and fulfilling life. He graduated from Turners Falls High School in 1983 and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel/Motel Administration/Management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with Honors. Daniel worked as a manager for several resorts including the Ocean Edge Resort of Cape Cod and the Killington Ski Resort. He worked for the Hilton Hotel Corporation since 2009 and received many awards for his excellence in leadership, including Manager of The Year. He was an avid fan of the Celtics, Red Sox, and the New England Patriots. Daniel enjoyed many sports including skiing, golf, basketball, waterskiing, and boating. Dan enjoyed nature and frequently visited Barton’s Cove. He and his two sons and many friends would spend weekends at Barton’s Cove, hiking, fishing, camping, and enjoying the serenity and beauty of nature.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Capital Roots and Unity House of Troy, NY or the Rensselaer Literacy Association.
To join in celebrating Daniel’s life, a memorial service will be held Saturday 9/4 at 10:30am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Turners Falls.
Calling hours will be held Saturday morning from 9am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
