Constance Sicard Obituary

Constance L. (Puhala) Sicard, 83, of Bulkley Street died Monday 12/5/22 at the Greenfield Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.  She was born in Montague on April 3, 1939, the daughter of James P. and Sophie (Konsevich) Puhala.  Connie attended local schools in Montague and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School.  She continued her education, graduating from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1960.  She married the love of her life, Ronald C. Sicard, Sr. on June 25, 1960.
Connie was a teacher in the Gill-Montague District at the Montague Center, Hilcrest and Sheffield Schools, for twenty four years before her retirement in June of 1997. 
Connie was a Brownie and Junior Girl Scout Leader and a Cub Scout Den Mother.  She was a member of the Retired Educators of Massachusetts- Franklin County Chapter and a member of the GMEF Board of Directors.
She enjoyed participating in the Community Meals Program of Franklin County, Our Lady of Peace’s daily Masses and Prayer Group and volunteered as a Lector. 
Connie enjoyed reading, flower gardening and traveling around the world. 
Besides her beloved husband of sixty two years, Ronald C. Sicard, Sr., Connie leaves two sons, Ronald C. Sicard, Jr. and his wife KrisAnn and Mark E. Sicard and his wife Donna and their granddaughter Abby; a daughter, Sharon J. Hall and her husband Jimmy of Tallahassee, FL; four grandchildren, Jimmy L. Hall, III and his wife Ginger, Jason A. Hall, Matthew J. Sicard and Christopher R. Sicard and his wife Kat; a great grandson, Jimmy Hall IV; a brother, James P. Puhala and his wife Kathleen of Westport, CT; two sisters, Mary Jane Garbiel of Gill and Theresa Johnson and her husband Robert of Longmeadow; and seven nieces and nephews. 
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Friday 12/9 at 10am at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls.  Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Turners Falls. 
Calling hours will be held Thursday evening from 4-6pm at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls.
