Charlotte V. Bryant, 86, of Silver St. passed away Wednesday August 14, 2024 at home. She was born in Greenfield January 26, 1938, the daughter of Erwin and Vera (Hall) Bryant.
Charlotte attended local schools and graduated from Greenfield High School. She went to further her education at   Burbank School of Nursing and received her Degree as a Registered Nurse. From July 1958 to July 1959, she was an assistant to the night supervisor at Burbank Hospital in Fitchburg, from July 1959 to October 1970 she was a staff nurse at Bryant Nursing Home in Greenfield. Charlotte then enlisted in the United States Air Force where she was a staff nurse at the USAF Hospital in Carswell AFB, Texas from 1960 to 1962 when she was honorably discharged as 2nd Lieutenant.  Once Charlotte returned to civilian life, she was a staff nurse for pediatrics at Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Springfield from January 1963 to March 1963. Then she was a private duty nurse at the former Franklin County Public and Farren Hospitals. She then was a nurse at the Veterans’ Hospital from May 1964 to July 1964 and then Newington Children’s Hospital both in CT. from August 1964 to July 1992, when she retired from nursing.
Charlotte enjoyed family, camping with her best friend Jeanne Clark in their RV where they traveled every state in the great US except Idaho and Hawaii. Sadly, Jeanne passed away on August 20, 2022 after being Charlotte’s best friend for 63 years. Charlotte also enjoyed music and just having fun. Christianity and her faith were a huge part of her life.
She is survived by her nephew; Donald Macleod, nieces; Tanya Bryant and Torie Odell, grandnieces; Angela Lane and Nicole Odell, grandnephews Daniel Odell and Craig Bryant.
Beside her parents and her best friend Jeanne, Charlotte was predeceased by her brother Trenor Bryant and her sister Verle Bryant.
