Carolyn F. (Boullie) LaShier, 78, Greenfield MA, passed away quietly and comfortably following a brief illness. She attended local schools in Greenfield and was a graduate of Greenfield High School, Class of 1962. Carolyn enjoyed her classmates at all the reunions and kept track of the graduates who have passed from her graduating class and held the title of “the crypt keeper”.
During high school, Carolyn was a secretary at the Esleek Paper Company in Turners Falls. She was a secretary for Art’s Tire Service, a Family business, in Greenfield for many years before her retirement.
Carolyn was an active member of the Brookside Volunteer Fire Department in Greenfield from the late 1970s until the mid 1980s. She trained with the other Volunteer Fire Fighters, helped to run the weekly siren test and responded, on occasion driving the fire truck, to the scene of the Fire. After her retirement, she volunteered at the Greenfield Visitors Center.
Carolyn had a passion for architectural drawing, designing the house her family enjoyed for many years since its construction in 1973. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and riding motorcycles.
Carolyn enjoyed island life in St. Croix with her beloved husband, Dennis, for several years during their retirement. They married in 1963 and were married for over fifty-four years until he predeceased her on March 27, 2017.
Carolyn was a loyal wife, daughter, mother and friend and will be deeply missed.
Among her survivors, Carolyn leaves two daughters, Bridgitte R. Cochran and her husband Mark of Fitchburg, MA and Francine L. Schrock of South Portland, ME; three grandchildren, Stephen M. Zentgraf and his wife Kelli of Johnston, RI, Phillip W. Zentgraf of Northbridge, MA and Michael Cochran of Fitchburg, MA; and three great grandchildren, Eric Zentgraf, Alexander Zentgraf and Cruz Menard.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
