Bryan F. Barlow, 61, died Monday 2/8/2021 at the Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield. He was born in Greenfield on October 7, 1959, the son of Bernard and Anna Barlow. Bryan attended local schools in Greenfield and attended the Franklin County Technical School, specializing in auto mechanics.
Bryan was owner and operator of Barlow's Excavating and Paving Company, which started as a small landscaping business and slowly progressed into excavation and paving. The company has since become a third-generation family business.
Bryan enjoyed operating equipment and going to heavy equipment auctions and antique car and truck shows. He had a passion for local NASCAR modified racing, loved motorcycling, attending motorcycle rallies, and camping in the White Mountains, NH.
Among his survivors, Bryan leaves his son, Scott Barlow and his girlfriend Allison of Montague; his partner of twenty three years, Karen Poirier of Turners Falls; a brother, John Barlow of Turners Falls; his former wife, Sharron Tobin of Greenfield; his longtime friend and employee, Gavin Tobin; two nieces, Brenda Barlow and Pam Poissant; and three nephews, Mark Barlow, Mike Barlow, and Greg Barlow and his wife Jennifer and daughter Savannah.
Bryan will also be missed by his beloved dogs, Mocha and Toby.
Besides his parents, Bryan was predeceased by his brothers Bernie Barlow and Richard Barlow.
A memorial service will be held Saturday 2/13 at 10am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
A calling hour will be held Saturday morning from 9am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
