Brent M. Kostanski

Brent M. Kostanski, 43, formerly of Gill, passed away Saturday 1/14/23 in Long Beach, CA. He was born in Greenfield on January 17, 1979, the son of Michael and Bette Ann (Warren) Kostanski.  Brent attended local schools in Greenfield and was a graduate from Greenfield High School Class of 1997, where he excelled in academics and football and made all Western Mass receiving the MVP Award. 
After graduation, Brent advanced his football talents, attending Cushing Academy for a year as a post graduate where they won the New England Prep School Championship. He also played baseball there, and received the defensive player of the year award. He went on to attend UNH and Florida Atlantic University and made each Division 1AA football teams.
Brent also attended Greenfield Community College where he attained his Associates Degree in Business Management.
Brent worked various jobs throughout his life, including Food City in Turners Falls for many years and Sudbury Nursery.  Brent was a free-spirited man who loved to explore and ended up living in California.
Brent was a smart, charismatic person and always had a friendly, welcoming smile on his face.  
Brent leaves his mother Bette Ann, his brothers, Michael Jon (Melissa) and their children Tristan and Alivia, Kyle (Michelle) and their son Ty. He also leaves several aunts, uncles and cousins. 
He was predeceased by his father Michael H. Kostanski on February 19, 2015.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Monday January30,2023 at 11AM at Blessed Trinity Parish-Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Gill. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Long Beach Animal Care Services, 7700 East Spring St., Long Beach, CA, 90815 or to Greenfield Minor League Baseball, c/o Matt Zraunig, P.O. Box 1127, Greenfield, MA 01302-1127.
