Bonnie F. Sawin, 82, of Station Road passed away Monday March 10, 2025 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was born in Montague August 24, 1942, the daughter of Richard and Eleanor (Bush) Sawin. Bonnie attended local schools and graduated from Turners Falls High School in 1961. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, bus trips, bowling and going to the Senior Center. Bonnie was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church in Montague Center.

Bonnie worked as a line prep in the food service department at UMASS for many years retiring in 1997.

She is survived by brother Rick Sawin and his wife Sallie of Montague Center and her sister Barbara St. Germain and her husband James of Sarasota, Florida plus many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Marilyn Kurtyka in 2015.

A graveside service will be held Saturday May 3, 2025 at 11 AM at Elm Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Bonnie’s name may be made to the First Congregational Church 4 North St. Montague, MA. 01351.
