Bernice T. (Desautels) (Wasielewski) Bourbeau, 94, passed away Friday (6-17-22) at Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield. She was born in Montague February 20, 1928, the daughter of Beatrice Desautels. Bernice attended local Turners Falls schools and graduated from Pittsburgh High School in California in 1946.
She was a supervisor in the pantry at Northfield Mt. Herman School for many years retiring in 1990. Previously she had been employed by Deerfield Academy. Bernice was a Communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church where she was a member of the Catholic Women’s Council. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and polka dancing. Bernice was a former member of the Board of Organized Workers at the former Franklin County Public Hospital.
Bernice raised 6 children after her husband’s death ages 10-18 ½ months by herself, Brian (Karen) Wasielewski, Beverly Sibley, Carol (Butch) Tobey, Theodore (Lynn) Wasielewski, Richard (Terri) Wasielewski and Robert Wasielewski. MA you did a great job raising us and we will carry your love and memories in our hearts forever.

Bernice also leaves her step-children John (Elaine) Bourbeau, Gary (Mary ) Bourbeau and Debra Quedar.
Besides her parents Bernice was predeceased by her husbands, Walter Wasielewski in 1961 and Robert Bourbeau in 1994 and her granddaughter Kimberly Ann Lefebvre on April 15, 1990.
Funeral service will be held Thursday (6-23-22) at 10 AM at Kostanski Funeral Home 1 Kostanski Square. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9 AM until service time.
