Millers Falls-----Arnold J. Felton, 88, of Crescent St. died Monday (10-25-21) at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield. He was born in Erving February 3, 1933 the son of Perley and Arniel (Drake) Felton Sr. Arnie attended local schools and was a 1950 graduate of Turners Falls High School.
During the Korean War he served as an enlisted man from November 1950 – November 1954.
Arnie was the mill chemist at the Millers Falls Paper Co., a division of International Paper. He retired in 1993 after working there for 38 years.
He was a lifelong resident of Millers Falls, a former member of the Republican Lodge of Mason’s and Melha Temple Shriners, where he was a Charter Member of The Vintage Auto Unit. Arnie was an avid car buff and was very active in various local antique car clubs.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years the former Joan A. Dzeima, his son John J. of Waltham, MA, his daughters; Sharon Brough of Hudson, NH and Marlene Felton of Millers Falls. He also leaves six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Debra Felton in 2009.
At his request there will be no services.
