Anne E. Harrington, 90, formally of 19 Pratt Street, died March 31, 2025, peacefully at Charlene Manor Nursing home.  Anne was born November 17, 1934, in Ware, MA.  The daughter of Elizabeth and Constantine Kamansky.  Anne lived in Leverett and attended New Salem Academy where she met the love of her life, Calvin Harrington.  Anne and Cal married April 14, 1952, and had a wonderful life together until Cal’s passing in 2009. 

They went on to have four children Philip Harrington Sr., Patricia Harrington, Debra Fiske, and Tracy Miner and later their children’s spouses, Karen, Brad, Mark, and Carl.  Anne and Cal settled in Erving, MA in 1962 where their home was host to years of holiday gatherings and parties with family and friends.  Later in life they were blessed with seven grandchildren, Philip Jr., Sarah, Nikol, Scott, Shanun, Katie and Samantha, and 19 great-grandchildren who all lovingly called her Nana.  Anne was a great cook and no matter how big the family grew she always made sure there was an abundance of food at any event she hosted.  We all had our favorite traditions but Anne’s oyster stew at Christmas, baked stuffed lobsters in the summer, or the homemade banana cream, lemon meringue, and pineapple cream cheese pies for each holiday were something we all looked forward to.  We will never forget that at any party Cal and Anne shared their favorite love in life, to dance with each other.  For over fifty years they had a graceful and loving way of dancing around the floor which was magical to watch. 

Dancing led them to join the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 997 and the Women of Moose Chapter 316 in 1990 where they enjoyed dancing to local bands on Saturday nights.  After learning more about the fraternity and the fraternity's commitment to care for children at Mooseheart in Auroa, IL, and care for seniors at Moosehaven in Jacksonville, FL, Anne found her new calling and offered years of dedicated service. 

Anne held every office and chairmanship in her Chapter including the Sr. Regent position in 1997.  In 2002-2003 Anne was appointed by the Grand Chancelor of Moose International to serve as the Massachusetts Deputy Grand Regent serving all Massachusetts Chapters.  Anne also served the Women of the Moose in the Mass/Rhode Island Association, the Chapters Membership Chairwoman for ten years, and Ritual Director for two years.  Anne loved to cook and became Kitchen Chairwoman for the Lodge for 16 years.  She coordinated hundreds of meals, banquets, weddings, bingo concessions and parties in her efforts to help the fraternity, her fraternity Brothers, Co-workers, and of course her family always chipping in when needed. Out of all the meals we helped with, Anne's chicken and biscuits were the best.  After Calvin passed in 2009, the Moose family was her extended family and she remained active in the kitchen until COVID. 

Anne was given many prestigious awards and accolades for her dedicated service to the fraternity.   In 2014 she was given an honorary Award from the MA/RI Moose Association, in 2021 was named Honorary Past President of the MA/RI Association, and in 2022 she received the Eleanor Martin Lifetime Achievement Award.  Only her family truly knew that she never wanted accolades for her contributions to the fraternity, she believed you should always be rewarded for believing in a cause and making your dedication and commitment count.  Her reward was the fraternity and family they became in her life. 

Over the years Anne loved to bowl at the French King Bowling Center, camping in New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire with friends and family, employed by Sebastian Ruggeri for 25 years, and she loved her work as a paraprofessional at the Gill Elementary School.  She even had time to chase Wayne Newton over the years, her all-time favorite singer, around the United States to see him perform from Ohio, Missouri, Connecticut, and many more.  We will never forget our trips to the Mohegan Sun, the stories would have you laughing hysterically. 

Anne leaves behind her brothers Herbert Kamansky, George Kamansky, and Edmund Kamansky and their spouses.  Anne was predeceased by her mother and father, Elizabeth and Constantine, and brothers Connie and Joseph Kamansky.

Calling hours will be Wednesday April 9, 2025, from 4-6 PM at Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls, MA.

Funeral services will be held Thursday April 10, 2025, at 10 AM at Kostanski Funeral Home as well.

Burial will follow in West Northfield Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will follow the burial service at the Moose Lodge, 20 School Street, Greenfield, MA.
