Andre Roger Lavoie, known affectionately as Andy, passed away on August 11, 2024, in Leeds, Massachusetts at the age of 87. Born on January 7, 1937, in Westbrook, Maine, Andy was a beloved figure in his community and a cherished member of his family.

Andy attended school at St. Hyacinth and Bridge Street, followed by Westbrook High School, where he met his loving wife Patricia. He briefly served in the Maine Air National Guard, a testament to his commitment to service.

Professionally, Andy was deeply committed to his craft. He began his career apprenticing with Fred DeWaters, working towards his plumber and pipefitter’s license. He spent many years working as a plumber and pipefitter through the United Association, of which he was a proud lifelong member of Union Local 217. His career also included significant time at Bath Iron Works where Andy applied his skills to shipbuilding. He continued working until age 62, and in his retirement, he was always improving his home.

Andy was a man of many interests, including golfing, watching tennis, and fixing clocks. He had a particular knack for finding treasures in thrift stores, which he would then handily bring back to life.

Described as hardworking, a super family man with a great sense of humor, Andy was deeply interested in current affairs, always staying informed on the latest news. His presence brought warmth and laughter to any gathering.

Andy is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia (Arnold); children, Deborah, Thomas, and Peter; siblings, Marie (Gilbert) and Gerard; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss his guidance and affection. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Honora, his brother, Raymond, and his great-grandson Caleb Saharceski.
