Amanda E. Godin, 46, passed away on Tuesday August 29, 2023, at the home of her dear friend in Bernardston. She was born in Springfield, MA on December 6, 1976, the daughter of Bruce and Judy (Beaulieu) Godin. Amanda had her associate degree from Holyoke Community College.
Amanda was a Veterinarian Technician at the South Deerfield Veterinary Hospital and a past employee for over 20 years at Agawam Animal Hospital. Amanda also loved to pet sit for people. Many were clients through the veterinary clinic that she made special bonds with.
Amanda loved to paint, read, write, and take walks in the park. She had a true love for animals, whether at work, in home, in the wild or in the zoo, she was just happy to be in their presence. Amanda loved taking photographs of animals, flowers, and nature in general. Her favorite color was red, had a love for Vin Diesel, the Fast and the Furious, classic cars, Alan Jackson, and Snoop Dogg. Amanda also loved Vermont. She was proud that her family was from there and treasured family vacations on Memorial Day and Columbus Day weekends.
Among her survivors, Amanda leaves her beloved cat, Aslin; her sister, Jaymi and nephew, AJ; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be greatly missed by her friends that thought of her as family by choice, Marie and her partner Karen, Cora, Winifred and her husband Nathan, Nikki, Dani, Jen, Ryan and his son Allister, whom Amanda adored, Shelley, Becky and her husband Keith.
Amanda was predeceased by her parents, Bruce and Judy Godin; two uncles, Michael Roberts and Albert Desjarnins; an aunt, Marie Latimer; and USMC Thomas Sullivan, who held a special place in Amanda’s heart.
