Alan Lackard Obituary

Alan W. Lackard, 70, passed away on May 14, 2021, at his home on Silver Street in Greenfield.  At the time, Alan was in the final stretch of treatment for early-detected lung cancer, and his death was unexpected.  Alan was born in Greenfield on September 12, 1950, the son of Walter and Kathryn (Pollica) Lackard.  Alan studied auto mechanics in school and always enjoyed working on cars.

Alan will be remembered by family and friends for his quick humor, true kindness, loyalty, patience, and a strong work ethic.  Prior to his retirement, he worked as a dispatcher for All States Asphalt, Inc., where his unparalleled patience was put to work.  Previously, he had driven tractor trailer trucks for both All States and Lake Asphalt.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, his long-time companion, Charmaine Archer, and his son, Corey Lackard.  He will be greatly missed by family members including his sisters Cheryl Billiel (Colrain, MA), Jeanne Brown (Townshend, VT), Kathy Barry (Royalston, MA); his daughter Angela Linson; his two grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He is also survived by his former spouse, Janice (Michonski/Lackard) Dymerski, and his adoring cat Maggie.

A service will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. at Kostanski Funeral Home in Montague.  Alan's son, Corey Lackard, will also be remembered at the service.
