Greenfield- Walter  R. Wandeloski, 82, of Hastings Street died Wednesday 6/14/17 at home.  He was born in Greenfield on April 25, 1935, the son of Walter and Helen Miastkowski Wandeloski.  Walter attended local schools in Greenfield and was a graduate of Greenfield High School Class of 1952.  He continued his education at the University of Massachusetts, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Walter served in the United States Army obtaining the rank of Sp 4. 

He was Regional Supervisor for the Western Mass Electric Company for over twenty five years before his retirement.

In his younger years, Walt was an exceptional football player and was a member of the Greenfield Lions Semi Pro Football Team.  He was a member of the Greenfield Lodge of Elks. He was involved for many years with the Franklin County Hockey Association. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting.

Besides his beloved wife of sixty three years, Carol Wallner Wandeloski, Walt leaves two sons, Richard of Colchester, VT; William and his wife Lynette of New Milford, CT; a daughter, Mary Norwood and her husband Jeffrey of Boothbay, ME; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services and burial will be private with full military honors to be observed with the United States Army assisted by  the Northfield VFW Post 9874, providing a firing detail.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital, 516 Carew St, Springfield MA 01104.
