Greenfield - Samuel P. Guiod, 22, of Cedar Street died Friday 6/15/18. He was born in Boston on January 2, 1996, the dear son of Peter and Antonette (Giangregorio) Guiod. Sam attended local schools in Greenfield and was a graduate of Greenfield High School Class of 2014. Sam continued his education at Fitchburg State University where he finished this year in the computer game design program. Sam was also commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army through Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s Reserve Officer Training Corps program.
Sam’s interests included running; he joined Greenfield High School’s Cross County team in 7th grade and remained a member of Cross Country, Track and Field, and Winter Track teams throughout high school; he was captain of all three teams in his senior year, and senior class president as well. Sam also participated in local area races such as the Bridge of Flowers 10K and Ethan Allen Fun Run.
He was an avid gamer, and his decision to major in computer game design surprised no one.
Among his survivors, Sam leaves his parents, Peter and Antonette (Toni) Guiod; an older brother, Joshua Guiod; a younger sister, Johanna Guiod; a grandmother, Juliet Giangregorio; uncles Chris, John and Martin, and two aunts, Lisa and Paula. So many cousins, extending from Maine to North Carolina.
A memorial service will be held 22 June 2018; calling hours are from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, a music dedication to Sam will be between 6:00pm and 6:30pm, and a faith memorial service for Sam will be from 6:30pm to 7:00pm, all at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield. Services are open to the public.
Sam requested that bright colors should be worn by attendees.
