Turners Falls- Richard P. Koshinsky, 74, of Sunrise Terrace died Tuesday 5/22/18 at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was born on December 22, 1943 in Westfield, MA, the son of Phillip and Mattie (Weatherhead) Koshinsky. Richard attended local schools in Greenfield and was a graduate of Greenfield High School.
Richard served in the United States Army.
He worked in the factory at Yankee Candle for many years until his retirement.
Richard was an avid Red Sox fan and loved spending time with his family. He had a great sense of humor and was known to everyone as Bepa, a loving name given to him by his granddaughters.
Among his survivors, Richard leaves a daughter, Jennifer Caples of Greenfield; a sister, Juanita Caldwell and her husband Dickie of Montague; a daughter in law, Pam Koshinsky of Orange; six granddaughters, Christina, Aleata, Katie, Sarah, Lydia and Julia; two great granddaughters, Tangiah and Luthidia; and several nieces and nephews.
Richard was predeceased by his wife, Linda (Hannah) Koshinsky in 2003; a daughter, Dee Dee Sengsoda and a son, Mark Koshinsky.
There will be no formal funeral services. Calling hours will be held Monday 6/4 from 5-7pm at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
