Greenfield-----Nancy C. (Bailey) Stevens, 77, died Sunday (4-8-18) at Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility.
She was born in Canton, Ohio January 15, 1941 the daughter of James A. and Helen E. (Russell) Bailey.
Nancy graduated from McKinley High School in 1959.
She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1963-1965 in the Northwestern States Mission. Nancy served in the church in many ways, including as a teacher, chorister, and president of the Relief Society. She was a loyal mother and had an alto singing voice.
She loved music and singing, which she attributed to her Welsh heritage. Nancy was an avid knitter known for having her knitting bag with her. She was a rabid fan of the Red Sox and football in general.
Nancy is survived by her children, James Stevens of Conway, Richard Stevens and his wife Lisa of Turners Falls, Jason Stevens and his girlfriend Suzanne Fleury of Greenfield, Anne Frost and her husband Adam of East Granby, CT, and her grandchildren: Andrew John Howell of Greenfield, Kody James Stevens of Conway, Crystal Jean Stevens of San Luis Obispo, CA, Kai Le Frost of East Granby, CT, Abigail Elizabeth Frost of East Granby, CT, Keira Lindsey Stevens of Greenfield, and her siblings: James D. Bailey of Kinston, NC, Robert Bailey of Canton, Ohio and Debra Bailey of Canton, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and Helen Edith (Bailey) Deering and John Bailey.
Services will be Wednesday (4-11-18) at 10 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
92 Colrain Rd.in Greenfield, MA in Springdale Cemetery in Turners Falls.
