Mildred F. (Kurtyka) Osciak, 90, of Montague Street died peacefully on Tuesday 11/27/18 at the Poet's Seat Health Care Center surrounded by her family, following a period of declining health. She was born in Montague City on May 29, 1928, the daughter of Franciszek and Janina (Duda) Kurtyka.
Millie grew up in Riverside, Gill, attended local schools, and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School Class of 1946. In her earlier years, Millie worked in the deli department at Carrol's Supermarket in Gill. She was employed there for twenty years.

She was first place winner in the 1970-1971 dance contest at the Ludlow Polish American Citizens Club and was awarded a beautiful trophy to prove it. Her favorite dance partner was her brother, Walter Kurtyka, who was her partner in that particular competition.
Millie enjoyed summer weather and the beach. She and her husband, Frank, spent many years vacationing during the winter at her sister and brother in law's home in Ridge Manor, Florida.
Mille loved all animals, especially cats, leaving her wonderful cat, Sven.
Among her survivors, Millie leaves her wonderful husband of sixty nine years, Frank; her son and caretaker of the last several years, Steven Osciak; her daughter, Regina Osciak of Greenfield; her sister, Helen Demko of South Deerfield; her brother, Francis Kurtyka of Greenfield; a nephew, John Demko and his daughter Zoe of South Deerfield; Millie also leaves her granddaughter, Cath Peace, her husband Roger and their children, Nathan, Marcus, Lauren and Addison of Schroon Lake, NY; a grandson, Michael Osciak and his children Sabastian and Gabriel of Greenfield; a grandson, Aaron and his son Cody of Greenfield.
