Mary Drew

Greenfield- Mary Drew, 58, passed Monday 9/10/18.  She was born in Greenfield on May 2, 1960, the daughter of Sydney and Lucille (Paulin) Drew.  Mary attended Greenfield High School. She returned to school later in life and attended Greenfield Community College and Smith College. In her working life Mary dedicated herself to helping people with mental illness. She developed and managed a wellness program that provided services to all members of the community. This dedication to helping others carried through to her personal life as well. Mary was always the first person to lend a hand to others and she became a surrogate mother to many. She loved spending time with her children whether it was relaxing watching a movie or dancing wildly to music. She had a wonderful sense of humor and contagious laugh that will be greatly missed.

Among her survivors, Mary leaves five children, Jeremiah Longe of Greenfield, Gabriel Longe and his wife Rita, of Greenfield, David Longe of Hiram, ME, Angelica Desroches and her husband Nate of Greenfield, and Christian Drew of Greenfield; two grandchildren, Stella Longe and Barrett Desroches; three sisters, Marsha Bittner, Sharon Tornow and her husband Chip, Cindy Banning and her husband Al; two brothers, Mark Drew and his wife Carol and Sydney Drew, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday 9/22 at 10am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield.  Burial will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Turners Falls.

Calling hours will be held Friday 9/21 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
