He was an avid stamp, and music collector. Later in life Lee was a talented painter, particularly enjoying to paint scenes of Old Deerfield. He enjoyed cribbage and enjoyed doing "magic tricks" for his grandchildren. Lee was active in the founding of the Grapevine Inc. of Greenfield where he was instrumental in helping many people.

He enjoyed eating at Denny's Pantry, where he made many friends over the years.

Lee leaves his daughters Tina Perkins and Tara Savoie both of Greenfield and Kristi Grimaldi of Enfield, CT; his brothers, Gerald of Westfield, Wayne of Jacksonville, FL, and Larry of Chicopee; his grandchildren, Cody Grybko of Portland, OR; Kylee, Joseph, and Alexander Monkiewicz of Greenfield; Joshua, Madeleine, and Lilly Savoie of Greenfield; Isabella, Anthony, and Dominic Grimaldi of Enfield, CT; his nephew Gerald of Belchertown; and niece Tonya of Westchester, NY.
