Kathryn "Kay" M. (Greene) Putala

Kathryn "Kay" M. (Greene) Putala, 88, of Turners Falls Road died Wednesday January 9, 2019 at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. She was born in Erving, MA on July 13, 1930, the daughter of George J. and Adelia V. (Shaulinski) Greene. Kathryn attended local schools and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School Class of 1948. She continued her education at Cooley Dickinson Hospital and obtained her LPN nursing certification.
Kathryn worked at the Farren Memorial Hospital and was an industrial nurse for Greenfield Tap and Die for a number of years. Kathryn married the love of her life Edwin J. (Snuggs) Putala on August 16, 1952 at St. Mary's Church in Turners Falls.
Among her survivors, Kathryn leaves two daughters, Kathleen Joy and her partner Gary of Amston, CT; Judith Healey and her husband Scott of Leyden, MA.; and a granddaughter, Katherine Joy.
Kathryn was predeceased by her husband Edwin Putala in 1985 and her daughter Diane P. Hepburn in 1999. Funeral Services will be held Monday January 14, 2019 at 9:15 am from the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 84 K Street, Turners Falls. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 84 K Street, Turners Falls, MA 01376.
