John P. Zukowski, Jr.

Charlemont- John P. Zukowski, Jr., 69, died Saturday 3/10/18 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA.  He was born in Greenfield on November 22, 1948, the son of John P. and Angeline (Marini) Zukowski.  John attended local schools in Greenfield and was a graduate of the Greenfield High School. John continued his education, graduating from Greenfield Community College with an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement. 

John was a police officer for the Town of Greenfield for twenty six years before his retirement.  

John was an active member of many local Vietnam veteran groups and enjoyed spending time with fellow vets. His hobbies included collecting coins, military patches and would often spend mornings with coffee and crossword puzzles. John appreciated living near the woods, hunting with his friends and dog, taking drives to count deer and fishing. He valued raising his three children with his wife and sharing his goofy sense of humor with his family.

In addition to his wife, Deborah Dellert Zukowski, John leaves three children, Rebeccah of Gill, Elijah and his wife Mary Ann of Toledo, OH and Christinah and her fiancé Tyler of Charlemont; a brother, Joseph and his wife Lynda of Greenfield; and a nephew, Jordan and his wife Becky of Millers Falls. 

Calling hours will be held Thursday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home. 

Funeral services will be held Friday 3/16 at 11am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield.

Burial will be held at Saturday May 26, 2018 at 10 MA at Calvary Cemetery in Greenfield with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a veteran's organization of your choice.
