Greenfield- Joan (Sullivan) Jarvis, 81 , of Plantation Circle died Monday 7/9/18 at home. She was born in Troy, NY on October 8, 1936 , the daughter of Edward S.. and Wilma (Vandeboe) Sullivan. Joan attended local schools in New York and was a graduate of Watervliet High School.
Joan was a bookkeeper at The Recorder in Greenfield for many years. Prior to that she was a bookkeeper at Cain’s Pickles.
She enjoyed bowling, bingo and fishing with her husband.
Among her survivors, Joan leaves three sons, David, Edward and Todd Jarvis, all of Greenfield, a daughter, Kimberly Turner of Greenfield, ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Sue Sullivan, Mary Lou Nash and Sara Crain, all of Rensselaer, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
Joan was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Thomas W. Jarvis on June 13, 2013, a son, Michael Jarvis on December 30, 2008 and a brother, Edward C. Sullivan.
Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 9:30am until 11am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield. Following the visitation, there will be a short prayer service held at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
