Turners Falls- Jessie M. (Sobolewski) Pietraszek, 94, of Millers Falls Road died Wednesday 6/20/18 at the Buckley Health Care Center in Greenfield with family by her side. She was born in Montague on December 30, 1923, the daughter of Joseph and Apolonia (Mikos) Sobolewski. Jessie attended local schools in Montague and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School Class of 1941 for which she helped organize the class reunions.
Jessie was a clerk for the Greenfield Tap & Die for many years until her retirement in 1985.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Turners Falls.
Jessie enjoyed flower gardening, playing cards and bowling. She loved traveling all over the United States and abroad, vacationing with family and friends and creating many memories.
Among her survivors, Jessie leaves a son, Robert Pietraszek of Turners Falls; two daughters, Barbara Hoynoski of Turners Falls and Laurie Meyer of Gill; three grandchildren, Christopher Hoynoski of Shelburne and Jeffrey Hoynoski of Turners Falls, Timothy Meyer Jr of Gill; four great grandchildren, Jamie-Lee and Seth of Shelburne and Samuel and Abigail of Turners Falls; a sister, Mildred Wasileski of Erving; and several nieces and nephews.
Jessie was predeceased by her husband Chester M. Pietraszek in 1976; three sisters, Victoria Klepadlo, Helen Plizga and Mary Yezierski; three brothers, John, Stanley and Eugene Sobolewski; and a son in law, Robert Hoynoski.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Monday 6/25 at 10am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 84 K Street, Turners Falls. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.
A calling hour will be held Monday morning from 8:45-9:45 at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls.
