Turners Falls- Jacob D. Stafford, 37, passed away in the early morning of July 22, 2018, surrounded by his wife Angela, his daughters, Olivia and Lillian and his family.

He was born in Greenfield MA on July 7, 1981, the son of Douglas and Laurel (Demers) Stafford of Montague. Jacob married Angela (Gonyer) on May 7, 2005.

Besides his wife, Angela, Jacob leaves behind his beloved daughters, Olivia June and Lillian Lee Lynn; his mother, Laurel Stafford; his father, Douglas Stafford; his brother, Joseph Stafford and his partner Amy Sengphong of Miller Falls; his sister, Jenna Taylor and her husband Jesse of Erving; nephews, Dominick, Nolyn and Zeagan Stafford; nieces Brooke, Taylor and Mckenzie Stafford; his grandparents, Leonel and Barbara (Pine) Brunelle of Sumter, SC,  Francis Demers of Turners Falls and Beverly Stafford of Turners Falls. Jacob also leaves behind several beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jacob was predeceased by his grandfather, Edward Stafford and step grandmother, Carol Demers.

Known to his closest friends as Skinny, Jacob graduated in 2000 from Franklin County Technical School in Turners Falls, where he studied autobody. As his love for football grew greater, he and the eagles of 1997 were able to make it to the Superbowl. After high school, Jacob played on many adult football and softball teams. He also coached the Great Falls Middle School football team, he truly loved every aspect of it. He enjoyed filming the Turners Falls Indians football games. He is a die hard Indian! Jacob also enjoyed coaching his daughters Olivia and Lillian's softball teams, the Diamond Dusters and Camelot Carpet Cleaners.

Jacob worked at NMH for many years in the dining services before he went on to becoming a Van pool driver up until he was diagnosed with Grade IV Glioblastoma, a very aggressive form of brain cancer on January 5, 2017. He went through many treatments of radiation at Mass General in Boston and  treatments of chemo therapy in Northampton's  new Mass General Cancer Center at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. All the doctors and nurses that Jacob saw weekly, monthly, yearly did everything they could. He fought the fight of cancer but couldn't fight any longer. Jacob wanted everyone he loved and cared about to know his favorite saying "It is what it is, everyone be kind to each other. Enjoy life".

The family of Jacob would like to extend our gratitude to everyone that has donated, cared for and help us through this very difficult year and half fight with cancer. We would like to thank Hospice of Franklin County for all the things they have helped us with.
