Known to his closest friends as Skinny, Jacob graduated in 2000 from Franklin County Technical School in Turners Falls, where he studied autobody. As his love for football grew greater, he and the eagles of 1997 were able to make it to the Superbowl. After high school, Jacob played on many adult football and softball teams. He also coached the Great Falls Middle School football team, he truly loved every aspect of it. He enjoyed filming the Turners Falls Indians football games. He is a die hard Indian! Jacob also enjoyed coaching his daughters Olivia and Lillian's softball teams, the Diamond Dusters and Camelot Carpet Cleaners.

Jacob worked at NMH for many years in the dining services before he went on to becoming a Van pool driver up until he was diagnosed with Grade IV Glioblastoma, a very aggressive form of brain cancer on January 5, 2017. He went through many treatments of radiation at Mass General in Boston and  treatments of chemo therapy in Northampton's  new Mass General Cancer Center at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. All the doctors and nurses that Jacob saw weekly, monthly, yearly did everything they could. He fought the fight of cancer but couldn't fight any longer.
