Turners Falls-----Henry C “Monty” Duda, 85, of Dunton St. died Sunday (9-24-17) at Holyoke Soldiers Home in Holyoke.
He was born in Montague City April 12, 1932 the son of John and Sophie (Owsiana) Duda.
Monty attended local schools and was a 1949 graduate of Turners Falls High School.
He was a veteran serving in the US Air Force. He participated in the Berlin Call Up. Henry was a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard for 14 years. Upon his retirement from the Mass. Air National Guard he became owner and operator of Duda’s Sales and Service.
Monty was past president and life member of the Turners Falls Rod and Gun Club and a life member of the Montague Elks.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years the former Joan Kruzlic, two sons James of Spokane, WA and Michael of Turners Falls. His sister and brother in law Christine and Paul Bourdeau of Carrollton, TX. Granddaughters, Jayne Pritchett of South Harbor City, CA., Erin Duda of Spokane, WA, one great granddaughter Chantell of Harbor City, CA. Monty also leaves several nieces and nephews including Debra Benoit of Montgaue, Michael Bourdeau of Dallas, TX, Diane Bourdeau Barton of Hickory Creek, TX, Carl Bourdeau of Washington, DC and other nieces and nephews in the Gardner area.
Services will be private.
Memorial contribution may be made to the donor’s choice.
