Evelyn C. (Casey) Luippold

GREENFIELD – Evelyn C. Luippold, 95, died Tuesday, May 8, at Charlene Manor Nursing Home after a long and fulfilling life and a recent battle with multiple health issues.

Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Greenfield. She was born on August 15, 1922, the daughter of William B. Casey and Delia (Forgea) Casey. She was married to John W. Luippold on November 20, 1944 and they enjoyed 58 years together. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband on November 2, 2002, and her beloved daughter-in-law Rose (Sobiech) Luippold, who passed away August 3, 2013.

Over the years she was employed by the Greenfield Tap and Die, the Greenfield Water Department and A.R. Sandri. Evelyn was a dedicated communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and a member of the St. Joseph’s Guild.  In her spare time she was a Girls Scout leader, an avid square dancer, and she enjoyed traveling cross country with John.

Evelyn’s greatest joy was spending time with her beloved children and their families. She is survived by her daughter and best friend Jeanne, Mary and Alan Parrott, Kathleen and Frank Pietryka, Ellen and Edward Rawson, John W. Luippold Jr., David and Nancy Luippold, and her ten grandchildren; Theresa, Daniel, Carolyn, Frank, Jim, Adam, Patrick, Christopher, Timothy and Matthew. In addition, Evelyn had six great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins all of whom kept her laughing.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, May 12th from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield MA. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M.  at Blessed Sacrament Church, 221 Federal Street, Greenfield with the Rev. Timothy Campoli officiating.   Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Greenfield.
