Esther (Siano) White

March 29, 1918 ~ October 15, 2017 (age 99) 99 Years Old

Greenfield- Esther (Siano) White, 99, died Sunday 10/15/17 at the Buckley Health Care Center in Greenfield.  She was born in Pittsfield, MA on March 29, 1918, the daughter of Thomas & Pauline (Globa) Siano.

She was a graduate of Greenfield High School Class of 1935 and continued her education at Greenfield Commercial College, when it was on Main Street across from Holy Trinity Church, where she studied business management and computers.

Esther was former owner of Ryan & Casey’s Inc., with her son, Peter Allen and worked there until this past January.  Prior to that, she worked at Wilson’s Department Store in the accounts payable department.

Esther was a former member of the Special Prevention for Cruelty to Children; a past member of the Greenfield Emblem Club; past commander of the Women’s Auxiliary of VFW; a member of the Franklin County Boat Club; a volunteer at the Franklin Medical Center; a member of the Historical Society; and a volunteer at the Greenfield Senior Center, doing aerobics on Greenfield Community TV “making the most of what you have”. 

Esther enjoyed skiing with her husband and friends throughout Europe and the United States. She also enjoyed ball room and square dancing for twenty years as a member of the Trail Town Twirlers.

Among her survivors, Esther leaves a son, Peter Allen of Greenfield; a daughter Joyce Ross of King of Prussia, PA; a granddaughter, Crystal Waite of King of Prussia, PA; three grandsons, Peter R. White of Reno, NV, Nicholas White and Brennan White, both of Greenfield; four great grandchildren, Nicholas Jr., Ethan, Blake and Mia White.

Esther was predeceased by her husband, Henry White, disabled American Veteran, in 1988; two sisters, Connie Pirog in 2012 and Helen Martin and in 2015; and a brother, Thomas Siano in 2004.

Funeral services will be private.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
