Greenfield- Elizabeth Ann (Bordeaux) Kellyhouse, 80, of Conway Street passed away Thursday 2/22/2018 at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. She was born at the Farren Memorial Hospital in Montague on January 20, 1938, the daughter of the late Lionel and Marion Bordeaux. Betty graduated from Turners Falls High School Class of 1955. She was an active participant in many school activities such as drum majorette, the yearbook staff, drawing most of the pictures in the yearbook, plays, tumblers, chorus and art club. After graduation, she worked for a short time at the Millers Falls Tool Company. She then joined the Air Force for a period of time.
Betty was an airline stewardess, and flew many Washington dignitaries over to Europe and back. She enjoyed those trips. Betty was a Certified Nurse’s Aide at the former Franklin Nursing Home on Conway Street in Greenfield. For twenty seven years, Betty loved caring for the elderly.
In earlier years, Betty painted and sketched pictures. She took a great pride in decorating and taking care of her home. She also loved to go out to lunch or dinner when shopping.
Among her survivors, Betty leaves three sons, Brett Sallee of Buckland; Ramon Sallee of Gypsum, CO; and Richard Sallee of Connorsville, IN; five granddaughters, Keara, Talia, Morgan, Bronte and Aleta; four great grandchildren, Keaton, Thomas, Scarlet and Zane; four sisters, Jeanne Gerber of NY; Janice Fuller and Lori Bastarache, both of Turners Falls; and Bonnie Root of Colrain; three brothers, David Bordeaux of Scottsdale, AZ; Denis Bordeaux of Greenfield and Alan Bordeaux of Chester, VT; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.
Betty’s husband Kenny Kellyhouse predeceased her in 2005 after twenty two years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her sister and brother in law Linda and Alan Evans, and brother in law, Norm Fuller.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held Wednesday 2/28 at the Montague Lodge of Elks, Turners Falls from 5-8pm.
