Earla Fisher Obituary

Earla R. (Williams) Fisher, 78, of Montague Street died Saturday 11/17/18 at the Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield. She was born in Leverett on September 28, 1940, the daughter of Earl and Evelyn (Jackson) Williams. Her mother wanted her baby girl to be named after her father, Earl, and put an "a" at the end to make it Earla.
She attended local schools in Leverett. Earla was employed at the Oxford Pickle Company in Deerfield for over fifty years. She was a hard working woman who worked three jobs to be able to take her family places such as Laurel Lake, Santa's Village and Santa Land. Earla always wanted her family to be happy, giving them happy memories and making their dreams come true.
Earla had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing Funny Face to You by Helen Ready. She enjoyed kitting and took pride in watching her granddaughters take after her craft. She enjoyed watching and playing along to game shows such as Wheel of Fortune and the Price is Right. She loved going to tag sales, reading, cooking, baking, and sewing, making each of her daughters a beautiful wedding gown.
Among her survivors, Earla leaves three daughters, Cindy Fisher of Colrain, Darlene Valliere and her husband Michael of Lake Pleasant, and Bonnie Eddy and her husband Bob of Turners Falls; two sons, Ronald Fisher of Millers Falls and Kevin Fisher of Wilmington, VT; eighteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Calvin Fisher, Sr., Earla was predeceased by three children, Calvin Fisher, Jr., Peter Fisher, Sr. and Steven Fisher; and three sisters, Rita Woodard, Eleanor Lane and Joyce Cousineau.
A graveside service will be held Saturday 11/24 at 10am at Plainview Cemetery in Leverett. A reception will follow at the Scalpers Club in Lake Pleasant.
There will be no calling hours.
