Greenfield- Duarte Lourenco, 55, of Devens Street died unexpectedly Tuesday 1/23/18 at the Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield. He was born in Sao Vicente Ferrerira, San Miguel, Azores on January 22, 1963, the son of Jose and Maria (Oulalia) Lourenco.
Duarte was a selector for C & S Wholesale for 13 years. He also worked for many years baking donuts at the Dunkin Donuts in Greenfield.
He enjoyed cooking meals for family & friends, gardening, motor cross racing, working on cars and watching soccer. He was well liked by those who knew him and radiated joy, laughter, and a helping hand to anyone in need.
Among his survivors, Duarte leaves a daughter, Amanda Lourenco of Napa, CA; a son, Decio Lourenco of Liphook, England; and a brother, Jose Lourenco of Fall River, MA; along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Duarte was predeceased by his wife of 13 years, Denise (Davis) Lourenco.
Funeral services will be held Monday 1/29 at 11am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield. Burial will be held in the spring at North Sunderland Cemetery.
