Greenfield- Doris (Inglin) Borer, 94, died Wednesday 10/3/18 at home. She was born in Switzerland in 1923, the daughter of Adalbert and Bertha Inglin. Doris married her late husband, Albert Borer, December 28, 1948, and came to the United States on May 15, 1949, settling in Greenfield, where she resided for the rest of her life.
Doris was an accomplished homemaker and talented seamstress. She was a member of the Board of Organized Work at the Franklin Medical Center, the Swiss Society of Boston, the Greenfield YMCA and local chapters of the Red Hat Society, and TOPS.
Doris enjoyed needle point, gardening, crocheting, knitting, rug braiding, and she and Albert loved dancing, playing cards with friends and travelling the world.
Among her survivors, Doris leaves two sons, Albert of Florida, Jeffrey and his wife Ollie of Texas; two daughters, Susan Caron and her husband Thomas of Greenfield, Marlene Borer, and her partner Ron Roberts of Shelburne; two grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews in Europe. She will also be missed by her caring neighbors at the Mill House and many dear friends
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday October 10th, at 10am at Holy Trinity Church, 133 Main Street, Greenfield. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Greenfield.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday afternoon from 4-6pm at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield.
