Greenfield - Charles E. Danielski, 83, of Countryside died Sunday 11/19/17 at the Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield.  He was born in Greenfield on November 7, 1934, the son of Edward and Jennie (Nieckoski) Danielski.  Charles was a graduate of Deerfield Academy Class of 1953 and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University.  After serving in the United States Army from 1957-1959, Charles received his Master’s in Education degree from Colby College, where he met the love of his life, Patricia Sweetman. The two were both enrolled in the National Science Foundation’s teacher education program at Colby, and they married in 1964. Charles taught biology and geology at Deerfield Academy for forty years, before the couple retired in Charlemont, and then Greenfield.

Charles was a lover of the natural world and an expert of the geology, flora and fauna of the Connecticut River Valley. He explored every inch of the Deerfield River. He was an avid geologist, fisherman, canoeist, camper, hiker, gardener and voracious reader. He was an enthusiastic storyteller and shared his love of nature with his wife, 4 daughters and 7 grandchildren, who eagerly joined him on numerous “expeditions to interesting places.”

Besides his beloved wife of fifty three years, Patricia (Sweetman) Danielski, Charles leaves four daughters, Suzanne Danielski Mondestin, Rebecca Caruso, Althea Danielski and Juliane Danielski; a brother, Edward Danielski, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Sophia Mondestin, Sylvia Mondestin, Maela Chatal, Matthew Caruso, Mary Caruso, Ethan Isert and Leah Isert.

Charles was predeceased by his sister, Mary Danielski Brooks, and his parents.

Funeral services will be private. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

There will be no calling hours.
