Beverly Ann Knapp

Beverly A. (Putnam) Knapp, 86, of Greenfield passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at the Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield on Thursday 11/29/2018.
Beverly attended local schools and was a graduate of Greenfield High School. She was an active member of the Greenfield community and a local hospital volunteer.
In her younger years, she worked at Western Mass Electric Co. but spent most of her working years at the family business, Knapp's Hardware Store. She loved her family, friends and animals. Bev was an avid tennis player, skier and Red Sox fan and especially enjoyed spending time with "the ladies" her very best friends. She also loved spending time on the Cape with her brother and skiing at Bromley with family and friends.
Bev was an adoring mother, survived by her children, Barbara Knapp and her partner Terry Boyce of Turners Falls; Amy Stanton and her fiance Peter Brown of Braintree; and Jeff Knapp of Jupiter Fl. She was the loving sister of Richard Putnam of Brewster and devoted grandmother of Ridgley Knapp, Hailey Stanton and Jillian Stanton. She is also survived by Liz Bushnell, many nieces, nephews and her longtime friends Diane Laferriere-Murphy and Peter Waterfield.
She was the beloved wife of the late Gilbert D. Knapp. Bev was predeceased by her parents, Bernard and Ruby Putnam; her sister Bunny Foley; nephew, Brian Bushnell; and her best friend Gloria Fotopulos.
Bev's family would like to thank the staff at Buckley Healthcare Center for their care and comfort for Bev during her stay there.
Funeral Services will be private. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
There will be no calling hours.
Bev wished for a simple loving goodbye. Please take the night off, don't cook and celebrate her with a toast.
