Adam Lavoine Obituary

Adam J. Lavoine, 38, died unexpectedly in his home on November 30, 2018. Adam was born in Greenfield on March 15, 1980 and no matter where his life took him, he always found himself home in Greenfield.
For the past two years, Adam lived a life filled with family, friends, and joy. His passion was snowboarding down Berkshire East on fresh snow and he never missed an opportunity to fly his drone in places he probably shouldn't have been flying it. He relished watching 3 am meteor showers at Sachem's Head. He was social and could strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He touched the lives of many people, and knew how to reach people who were often considered unreachable. He tried to be there for others in any way they needed him to be. He dished out compliments like candy and had the ability to make sad people feel better.
He tried everything in his power to overcome the things that held him down. He sought help, built and rebuilt trust, loved deeply, and apologized as best he could. He wanted nothing more than to be well. Adam took comfort in knowing that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior and will spend eternity with Him.
Adam leaves behind many loved ones including his mother, Elizabeth Mattern of Turners Falls, his father and step-mother, Jeffrey and Barbara Lavoine of West Springfield, his brother Sean Lavoine and wife Paula of Greenfield, his sister Kristen Ricci and husband Dustin of Storrs, CT, his sisters Jennifer Lavoine of West Springfield, and Kelsy Lavoine of Boston, three nieces, one nephew, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
In lieu of flowers his family asks you to consider make a donation in Adam's name to one of these organizations: the Opioid Task Force, 43 Hope Street, Greenfield, MA 01301or to Chill, a positive youth development program where board sports become a vehicle for building resilience, confidence, and self-awareness. chill.org/support-chill
