Sandra Niedzwiedz Obituary

Sandra J. Niedzwiedz, 69, of Goodell Place passed away unexpectantly at home on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. She was born in Greenfield on May 3, 1954, the daughter of Bernard and Gertrude (LaMountain) Waryas.
Sandi attended Turners Falls High School and Mahar Regional High School, graduating from Mahar Regional High School in the class of 1972. Sandi worked in the Erving Elementary School system as well as the Gill-Montague Regional School district in the Food Service Department.
Over the years, Sandi created crafts and sewed various items. When her daughters were young, Sandi prided herself in creating Halloween costumes as well as other dresses to attend special events. She made her home with her husband, Francis, then began working in the schools when her daughters were of school age, which led to a more than thirty-year career in the school systems.
Sandi enjoyed spending time with her two grandsons and found opportunities to spoil them. She was always up for a Sunday drive anywhere for an adventure, even on a Tuesday. Lovingly known as “Sandi Jean,” “SJ,” and “Jazzle” to those close to her, she was well known for her famous baked bean recipe, which she shared with anyone that requested it. Sandi was a true “Waryas” with a love for sweets and an affinity for Richardson’s Candy Kitchen.
Sandi was pre-deceased by her husband, Francis, of 44 years. Sandi and Francis valued their time together and made many memories with travel and sharing experiences with their children and grandchildren. Sandi leaves her daughters; Amy Eichorn and her husband, Kurt, of Turners Falls and Megan Soto and her husband, Ryan, of Easthampton; her sisters Cheryl Pienkos of Westfield and Chanda Waryas Welles of Turners Falls. Sandi also leaves her grandsons, Samuel and Andrew, and several nieces and nephews.
A Time of Remembrance for Sandi will be held at Terrazza of Greenfield on May 4, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Sandi.
To align with Sandi’s line of work, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the local food bank, Franklin Country Regional Survival Center, 96 Fourth Street, Turners Falls, MA. Monetary donations can be made online at: www.franklinareasurvivalcenter.org
