Ronald C. LaRoche, Sr. died in Greenfield MA on March 12,2024, at the age of 96. Born in Montague MA the first to Clifford and Estelle (Nadeau) on September 20, 1927. An enlistment in the U.S. Navy, interrupted his eventual graduation from Turners Falls High School in 1946. Ronald went on to pursue and completed an associate degree in business from Nichols College, Dudley, MA.
He was a Mass Highway employee his entire career, (serving in Traffic, Survey Party Chief and ended his career as a bridge inspector. Ronald enjoyed the companionship of Jean (Cullen) LaRoche, Madeline (Klinker) LaRoche, Carlene (Bean) LaRoche and Millie Sanders. Over his lifetime, Ron participated in many activities to include camping, fishing, travel, gardening, ballroom dancing, biking from Greenfield to Shelburne to have breakfast at the age of 70, an expert skier who skied into his 80’s.
Survivors include son Ronald Jr. of Greenfield, daughter Jean and husband Henry Boulanger of Ashville, NC and daughter Kearin LaRoche of Vancouver, WA. He leaves siblings, Joyce Mankowski of Turners Falls, Bob LaRoche and Jeanette LaRoche of Holmes NY; four grandchildren, Kearstin Williams, Robert Williams of WA, Patrick Boulanger of Manchester, NH, and Leita (Boulanger) Bourque and husband of Brian Bourque of Manchester, NH; three great grandchildren, Joey Boulanger, Estelle Rose Bourque and Henry Boulanger and several nieces and nephews.
Ron was predeceased by his son, Joseph and his sister Betty Kestyn.
A private service will be held at the time of interment.
