Rose F (Rogalski) Molongoski

June 8, 1920 ~ August 12, 2017 (age 97) 97 Years Old

Amherst-Rose F. (Rogalski) Molongoski, age 97, of Greenfield and Turners Falls, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, August 12, 2017, at the Center for Extended Care in Amherst.

She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore C. Molongoski to whom she was wed for 40 years at the time of his death in 1981.

Born in Greenfield, June 8, 1920, she was a loving daughter of the late Anna (Maleski) and Walter Rogalski.  Rose grew up in Greenfield with her predeceased 5 sisters and 1 brother and graduated from Greenfield High School, class of 1937.

Prior to her retirement in 1984, Rose had been employed at the Millers Falls Paper Mill as an administrative assistant to the vice president and had previously worked at the Montague Rod and Reel Company.

While living in Turners Falls for 64 years, she was a communicant of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and a member of the Rosary Soldality.  Rose’s family was the focal point of her life.  She was without exception ready and so willing to help her children, grandchildren and extended family members.  Whenever a need arose, “Rosie” was called upon.

Over many years, she enjoyed working in her yard, caring for her dogs Princess, Ludwig, and Kermit, her cat Whiskers, and watching hummingbirds while sitting in her comfortable screened porch. Rose’s other interst was antiques and going to auctions to bid on antique furniture and collectable items which she oftentimes would give to her children.  Rose also volunteered at the Farren Memorial Hospital in Montague City.

Rose is survived by her loving and devoted children, Mike Molongoski and his wife Carol (Ebeling) of Hanover, MA, Karen (Molongoski) and her husband Ronald Dobosz of Shelburne Falls, MA and John Molongoski and his wife Judith (McDowell) of East Falmouth, MA.  Rose is also survived by her 10 cherished grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be Thursday (8-17-17) at 11am at Our Lady of Czestochowa, 84 K St. in Turners Falls. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 9am until 10:30am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square in Turners Falls.
