Deerfield---Mary Ellen (Newcomb) Grover, 74, of Upper Rd. died Friday (9-1-17) at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield.

She was born in Greenfield MA on September 19, 1942 the daughter of Herbert and Bernice (Warren) Newcomb.

Mary attended Deerfield schools and was a graduate of Frontier Regional High School class of 1960. She went on to nursing school in Boston. Mary was a RN and spent most of her career at Franklin Medical Center for over 32 years.

She enjoyed walking her dog, reading, crossword puzzles, spending time gardening and being outside in nature.

Mary leaves her children, Andrew N. Grover of North Carolina, David F. Grover and Jeanne E. Grover both of Deerfield, two sisters Jane Drumgool of Deerfield and Lois Zieper of Anchorage Alaska. Her grandchildren, Brianna, Erika, Madison, David Jr., and Abbigayle and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Friday (9/15/2017) from 5-7pm at Kostanski Funeral Home 220 Federal St in Greenfield.

In lieu of lowers memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s honor to Dakin Humane Society 163 Montague Rd. Leverett, MA 01054
