Marguerite E. (Hohengasser) Yestramski

March 16, 1926 ~ December 5, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Greenfield- It is with great sadness that the family of Marguerite E. (Hohengasser) Yestramski announces her passing at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, on Tuesday, December 5, 2017.  She was surrounded by her loving family who kept vigil with her from the time she entered the hospital on Friday, December 1 until her passing.  She was born in Greenfield on March 16, 1926, the daughter of Emil and Maria (Schali) Hohengasser.  She attended Holy Trinity School and was a graduate of Greenfield High School Class of 1944.

Marguerite was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, sewing, and quilting.  Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were recipients of these lovingly hand sewn quilts that they will cherish for years to come.  She also loved solving crossword puzzles and taking long rides in the country.

Marguerite was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Frank James Yestramski. She is survived by her four children:  Francis Yestramski, Greenfield MA, Kathleen (Ron, deceased) Daysh, Southampton MA, Thomas (Debbie) Yestramski, Contookcook NH, and Michael (Rose) Yestramski, Waldorf MD; a daughter-in-law JoAnne Yestramski, Greenfield MA; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; four siblings, Irmgard Petersante, Herbert Hohengasser, Ernest Hohengasser and Elaine Lundquist; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the wonderful staff at Baystate Franklin Medical Center.  We are truly grateful for the level of care they administered to our mother during this very difficult time.  The entire staff’s  patience, kindness, and understanding they gave to our mother during her hospital stay will never be forgotten.  It was a great comfort.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, 12 December at 10am at Holy Trinity Church, 133 Main Street, Greenfield with the Rev. Timothy Campoli officiating and the Monsignor Ronald Yargeau con-celebrating.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Greenfield.
