Turners Falls----Karin E. Koldys, 69, of High St. passed away Monday (11-28-16) at Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield, with her son and daughter by her side.  She was born in Greenfield July 18, 1947 the daughter of Eugene and Sophie (Golembeski) Koldys.

Karin was a longtime Turners Falls resident having graduated from Turners Falls High School the class of 1965. She also attended GCC and Becker College.

She was a teacher’s aide at Sheffield School for many years then went to work for Northfield Mount Hermon as an administrative assistant for many years.                                

Karin enjoyed doing antique restoration, cooking, gardening and the beaches in Maine. She also enjoyed playing scrabble and doing crossword puzzles.

Among her survivors are her son Robert Aldrich of Northampton and her daughter Erica Aldrich-Smith and her husband Joseph of Erving. Karin also leaves a brother in-law Chris Shea of Turners Falls, a nephew Timothy Shea of CT., a grandniece Madison Liimatainen, an aunt Eleanor Golembeski of Millers Falls. and many cousins including Debbie Golembeski.

She was predeceased by her sister Jane Shea in 2008 and her niece Katie Liimatainen in 2009.

A calling hour will be held Saturday (12-10-16) from 12 noon to 1 PM at the Kostanski Funeral Home 1 Kostanski Square Turners Falls followed by a gathering of friends and family at Karin’s home anytime between 1PM and 5 PM.
