Turners Falls—Gertrude J. (Arel) White, 77, of Coolidge Ave, died Friday 8-19-16 at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield.

She was born in Montague November 11, 1938 the daughter of Alphonse V. and Josephine E. (Denkiewicz) Arel.

Gertrude attended local schools and was a 1957 graduate of Turners Falls High School. She was a homemaker raising her children and had previously worked for Erving Paper and Buxton Leather. She enjoyed her church the Healing Grace Ministries in Brattleboro VT. and sewing and knitting.

She leaves a daughter, Fay J. Oliver and her husband Steven of Naugatuck, Ct, five sons, Brian T. Fellows of Athol, MA, Darius P. Fellows and his wife Beth of Voluntown, CT, Jason L. Fellows his wife Norma of Humble, TX, Shawn D. Fellows of Turners Falls, MA, Zachary S. Fellows of Greenfield, MA, a sister,Gaylee Arel of West Hatfield, MA, a sister-in-law, Natalie Arel of Turners Falls, six grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Charles in 1993 and a son Charles in 2015 and was also predeceased by her sister Alberta Griffin and her brother Wayne Arel.

Funeral services will be held Monday 8-22-16 at 11 AM at Kostanski Funeral Home 1 Kostanski Square. Burial will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
