Greenfield-Eloise A. Alex, 75, died Monday (4-10-17) at the Buckley Healthcare Center.

Eloise was born in Greenfield on July 6, 1941 the daughter of Ernest and Beatrice (Lamoureaux) Alex. She attended Abercrombie School in “Bingville” and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1960.

After graduation Eloise worked at Baystate Hospital in Springfield and the at Cushing Sate Hospital in Framingham for several years before returning to Greenfield where she worked at Wesco Electric, Franklin Nursing Home and Charlene Manor as a CNA.

In earlier years Eloise traveled to Bermuda with a friend. She and her sister Joyce Alex vacationed in Florida, Las Vegas, Ottawa, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Niagara Falls, the Cape, and Pennsylvania Dutch Country.  Later they enjoyed casino trips to Atlantic City and Foxwoods.  Eloise also enjoyed the Red Sox and the New England Patriots on television, doing word seek puzzles and hand held casino games.

Eloise and her sister shared a home for 46 years. Joyce predeceased Eloise in March of this year.

She leaves her cousins, Karen Fitzpatrick of Bernardston, Linda Koonz of Greenfield and Dennis Koonz of Orange. She also leaves lifelong friends Charlotte Bryant, Jeanne Clark, and Marlene Terounzo, all of Greenfield, her beloved cat, Boots and her dog Megan.

In addition to her sister, Joyce Alex, Eloise was predeceased by her brother Ernest P. Alex, Jr. and her cousin Virginia Koonz.

Burial will take place at the Green River Cemetery at a later date and will be private and at the convenience of the family.
