Greenfield- Donald G. Pierce, 75, of Sunrise Ave died Saturday 12/3/16 at the Buckley Health Care Center in Greenfield.   He was born in Greenfield on January 25, 1941, the son of Robert G. and Grace (MacDonald) Pierce.  Don was a lifelong resident of Greenfield, graduating from Greenfield High School Class of 1960. 

Don served in the United States Army from 1960-1962. 

He married his beloved wife, Phyllis Bergeron on November 10, 1995. 

Don was employed at the Western Mass Electric Company for thirty three years before his retirement in 2002. 

He was a member of the Greenfield Lodge of Elks #1296 for forty six years and was Elk of the Year in 2006.  Don was a member of the Second Congregational Church in Greenfield.

Besides his wife, Phyllis, Don leaves a daughter, Suzanne M. Leh and her husband Bill; a son, Robert D. Pierce and his wife Kathern “Beanie”, all of Turners Falls; two step daughters, Jill Linnell and her husband Doug and Sara J. Haselton and her husband Dan, all of Greenfield; two sisters, Margaret Wood and her husband of Blair of Dillon, CO and Dolly Pierce of Portsmouth, NH; two grandsons, Max and Corbin Leh; three step grandsons, Zackary and Colby Avery and Nathan Haselton; a step granddaughter, Katie Haselton; a sister in law, Nancy Mooney of Athol, MA; and several nieces and nephews.

Don was predeceased by his brother, Robert in 1969.

A memorial service will be held Saturday 12/10/16 at 11am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield with the Rev. Timothy Campoli officiating.  Burial will follow at Green River Cemetery in Greenfield. 

Calling hours will be held Saturday morning from 9am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
